ADDYA is a small, family run business that manufactures fishing hooks
and produces other tackle related products for anglers, commercial fisherman,
and lure manufactures worldwide. The
ADDYA family started their business in a small shop trading and importing
fishing related products in 1943. Then
in 1983 ADDYA began manufacturing high-carbon steel fish hooks with fully
automated Japanese machines that could chemically sharpen needle point
hooks. Today, ADDYA's brand of Tri-Cut
Point and Needle Point fish hooks are found in international markets throughout
the overseas market.
So is it complicated to design and
have your own line of fishing hooks?
"No," said Dave Addya, who works in
the liaison office in the United States, "You just need to have the
following information; your name, e-mail address, description of the hook, explain
if the base of the hook ringed, flattened, or open ring, point of the hook
tri-cut or needle, bend of the hook round, Kirby, limerick, or other, is the shank
of the hook straight or bent, give the diameter of
hook, and sketch of the hook drawing."
After the specks are submitted to Dave, it goes to the tooling/design
team. An example of the hook and cost is
sent back to the individual or company for approval. If approved the individual or company, they
pay for the number of hooks that they want and samples are made until the buyer
is satisfied through testing then ADDYA begins production. ADDYA can also do the packaging of the hooks
for the individual or company. The
minimum number of hooks required to product your hook is 15,000 to 30,000 or
5,000 to 10,000 on very large hooks 4-inches or longer. (For more information

moving forward to manufacturing syringe needle pointed custom hooks. The cost would be lower than other major hook
manufactures, but retain its high quality.
ADDYA also plans on coming out with a line of treble hooks in a number
of popular sizes. For ADDYA it’s all
about customer service and assisting smaller retailers or midsize company.
